Blitz Vega release new single ‘Lost Myself’, a song which perfectly encapsulates the whirlwind of emotions that have emerged from the Blitz Vega story. Its verses possess a taut intensity, with Kav’s hushed vocals expressing the full vulnerability of the lyrics. But then the song takes flight into its hook, with sorrowful strings and gospel-tinged vocal harmonies supporting the raw feeling of th words. The track’s climactic guitar solo takes it somewhere else entirely, evoking the catharsis of beginning to come to terms with such a loss.

'Imagine Me' the new track from Blue Violet, released during a run of sold out UK shows this summer. The track takes electronic influences from the 80s with the bass synth driving the track, and a guitar riff that drops in and out throughout to a rousing finale.

Acclaimed Scottish actor Blythe Duff has covered 'Glasgow Town', a song penned by songwriter JJ Gilmour formerly of Glasgow pop band The Silencers. Blythe has made an accompanying 6 minute video, described as ‘an homage to Taggart, and a love letter to Glasgow’, the film echoes the opening credits and gritty underworld scenes of the long-running cop show.

Road sweeper comes into town

Alternative punk rock band LOVEBREAKERS have released their brand new single ‘Attracted To Your Fashion’, taken from their highly anticipated second album which is due out this summer. An energetic, power pop anthem, huge chorus, surrounded with their staple and hooky lead guitar lines. 

Ukrainian born dancer, Lena Bovay, director and choreographer Alexandra Green and musician Pete Diggens have created an emotive film that highlights the plight of people in Ukraine. The film aims to raise awareness and money for the Ukrainian arm of the charity, Choose Love.

Singer-Songwriter Louise Connell releases her first track of 2022, the beautiful ‘The Truth That I Suppose I Always Knew’. Louise recently signed with the brilliant indie label Last Night From Glasgow (LNFG) for her next album. The release is available on all streaming platforms as well as on CD, which will also include five of her previous singles.

On September 10th Louise supports Monica Queen at the CCA, Glasgow.

Manchester Prog duo The Blackheart Orchestra have released the track ‘The Tide’ taken from the band’s upcoming album Hotel Utopia, which will be released through Ceandar Records on September 23, 2022. Hotel Utopia takes a musical look at the afterlife, an audio movie for the listener’s mind, emotions and imagination.

‘Wine and Roses’ is the second solo single from London born and bred, Singer-Songwriter Malissa Whitehouse, following on from debut single ‘Dear Diary’. Both songs are co-written by Kevin Hughes
